Lying
between the stretched deserts of south Asia and Chenab,
the connection of green grasslands of Punjab to the
sands of Sindh, it is in the heart of southern Punjab,
the city of Rukn-e -Alam ,the limits of Bin Qasim, "The
city of Saints" - the exotic city of Multan.
It
the capital of culture placed in the south of the land
of five rivers with the the temperature ranging from
0 to 50 C. The city is known for the diversity in its
rich culture. The history of the city gets its exciting
re-beginning from the its invasion by the first Muslim
conquer from Arab- the mighty MUHAMMAD BIN QASIM. Islam
precipitated the idolism with the arrival of Sufi saints,
SHAH RUKN-e-ALAM and others, thus adding Arabic, Persian
(Farsi), Sindhi to its ancient language and molding
the script into Arabic alphabets abolishing the old
Punjabi dawangari script, lastly presenting Southern
Punjab with a dialect of Punjabi "MULTANI",
later known as "SIRAIKI".
The language was given the full regional status after
the emergence of Pakistan.
